Kahn Wins 2018 Jim Sheehan Award

The Ohio Council for the Social Studies announce Maria Kahn's selection as a 2018 Jim Sheehan Award Winner. Kahn was strongly recommended by her Miami social studies methods professor. The Dr. James Sheehan Pre-Service Social Studies Teacher Award Winner was established in memory of OCSS Executive Director, Jim Sheehan, who promoted undergraduate participation in the professional organization. This award honors outstanding social studies university students that have demonstrated excellence in teaching and have great potential in the social studies classroom.
As a recipient of the award Kahn receives a complimentary one year's membership in OCSS, an award certificate, and recognition at the Awards Luncheon at the 2018 Annual Conference on Tuesday, October 16th.
