Kal Penn To Canvass w/ Jimmy Van Bramer for Queens Borough President

Will rally volunteers to gather petition signatures + meet and greet neighbors

QUEENS, NY (01/06/2020) (readMedia)-- Kal Penn, Actor and former Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement under President Barack Obama, is endorsing Jimmy Van Bramer for Queens Borough President, and will canvass with him for petition signatures. Penn recently starred in "Sunnyside", a sitcom about a Queens local lawmaker helping immigrants apply for citizenship. Penn is an active voice for immigrant rights and has contributed to relief efforts for Palestinian and Syrian Refugees. He is also active in Democratic politics, encouraging young people to register to vote.

The two will petition for ballot signatures on Monday evening in Sunnyside, Queens where Van Bramer resides. Before heading out to petition Penn and Van Bramer will rally volunteers.
