Kansas Native Elizabeth Boos Selected as Student Employee of the Year at Creighton University

OMAHA, NE (04/18/2011)(readMedia)-- Creighton University junior Elizabeth Boos of Topeka, Kan., has been named Student Employee of the year for 2011. She was chosen out of 34 nominees for her exceptional work at the box office in the Lied Education Center for Fine and Performing Arts, where she has been employed for the past three years. She will be honored at a staff appreciation luncheon April 19, where she will receive a plaque and a $200 gift card.

Michael McCandless, Boos' supervisor and operations manager at the Lied Center, said, "Elizabeth understands very clearly that the success of any production begins with how the public is treated from the moment they contact us for a reservation. She is not afraid to put in the hours necessary to complete the work."

Creighton's Office of Financial Aid and Student Employment has sponsored the employee of the year program for the past 19 years. Students who have been employed with Creighton for at least six months are eligible for nomination by their supervisors.
