Katherine Battershell to attend Lycoming College

WILLIAMSPORT, PA (05/10/2013)(readMedia)-- Katherine Battershell, of Roseville, C.A., has been accepted and plans to attend Lycoming College for the fall 2013 semester with a scholarship in music.
Battershell is the daughter of Alan and Sherri Battershell of Leesburg, V.A. Battershell serves as the student representative on the Roseville Joint Union High School District Board of Education. She is a member of the Independence Choir, student government, and designed costumes and performed in theatre productions at her school. As a member of Our Saviors Way Luteran Church, she helped raise money to assist in disaster relief and hunger relief and was a leader for Vacation Bible School. She also is an active volunteer in her community.
Battershell graduated with high honors and received academic awards and membership from the California Scholarship Federation and the National Honor Society for High School Scholars. She was one of only two students from Independence High School to receive the coveted BECOME Award from Roseville Chamber of Commerce recognizing her academic achievements, civic work, and charity work. She has also received awards for music, citizenship and civic leadership.
