STANDISH, ME (05/04/2012)(readMedia)-- Kayla Olsen of East Wilton, Maine, received the Department of Nursing Award at Saint Joseph's College in Standish, given to a student who demonstrated the ability to provide patients and families with compassionate, professional nursing; the ability to make critical judgments based on a sound knowledge base; and the potential for leadership within the health care arena and within the profession of nursing. She also received the Sister Consuela White Award for excellence in scholarly achievement as evidenced by the highest grade point average among senior nursing majors. Olsen will graduate with distinction in May.
