Kaylynne Terry Named Regent of the Week

Freshman Kaylynne Terry (Streator, Ill.) has been named Regent of the Week for the week ending February 25, 2018. Terry was simply outstanding in her collegiate debut on Sunday. She began by becoming the first ever RU women's track and field athlete to win an event at the NACC Indoor Championships when she took first place in shot put and absolutely destroyed the Rockford University record in the process. Terry's throw of 13.30 meters was nearly 3.5 meters farther than the previous record of 9.85 meters. Additionally, her throw currently ranks as the 22nd farthest in all of NCAA Division III this season. Terry followed up her shot put performance with another excellent effort in the weight throw event. The Streator native placed seventh in the weight throw and broke her second school record of the day. Her throw of 13.39 meters was a full meter farther than the previous school record.
