WHITTER, CA (06/11/2012)(readMedia)--  Whittier College senior water polo player Keary Schlactus was named to the Western Water Polo Assiciation's (WWPA) All-Academic Team.

The team consists of members who carried a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale), played in at least 50-percent of the team's contests in the sports respective season and was classified as a full-time student who has completed a minimum of one semester or two quarters at his institution.

Schlactus comes to Whittier from Newberg, Ore. finished his final season with the Poets in impressive fashion and proved to be a big contributor on offense as he finished the 2011 season with 34 goals on 79 attempts, 15 assists, 10 drawn ejections, and 22 steals.

Keary graduated from Whittier College on May 11, 2012
