Kelton Buchanan Wins 2012 Johnson Opportunity Grant at Washington and Lee University
LEXINGTON, VA (06/11/2012)(readMedia)-- Kelton Buchanan of Powder Springs, Ga., a rising senior at Washington and Lee University, has been selected for the spring/summer 2012 Johnson Opportunity Grant. The Johnson Program in Leadership and Integrity awards 25-30 grants each year.
Buchanan, a sociology major with a minor in women's and gender studies, will intern at Scooter Braun Projects in California which manages the entertainment careeers of Asher Roth, The Wanted and Justin Bieber.
Buchanan hopes to pursue a careeer in the entertainment/music industry and his internship will give him experience in social media marketing.
At W&L, he is co-chair of the General Activities Board and a member of the varsity basketball team.
The grants cover living, travel and other costs associated with the students' proposed activities, which are designed to help them with their future careers and fields of study. The grants vary in amount from $1,000 to $4,500 and are funded as part of the Johnson Program in Leadership and Integrity.
