Kew Gardens Attorney David Louis Cohen Named Chair of Bar Foundation's Eleventh District Fellows

ALBANY, NY (09/17/2014)(readMedia)-- Kew Gardens attorney David Louis Cohen will serve as chair of the Fellows for the 11th Judicial District of the New York Bar Foundation, The Foundation announced today.

A Fellow is a lawyer who has been recognized for professional achievement, dedication to the legal profession and community service.

"Serving as a district chair of the fellows is notable and significant to the continued success of The New York Bar Foundation," said Emily Franchina of Garden City (Franchina & Giordano, PC), chair of the Fellows. "We welcome David Louis Cohen to the distinguished assembly of chairs and look forward to his participation."

Cohen succeeds Guy R. Vitacco, Sr. who served as chair of the 11th Judicial District until his passing in April 2014.

A solo practitioner, Cohen also is counsel to the New York State Assembly Codes Committee. He is a member-at-large of the New York State Bar Association's Executive Committee. He previously served as a vice-president of the 11th Judicial District on the Executive Committee. He is a past president of the Queens County Bar Association and the Criminal Courts Bar Association of Queens. He is a founding member of the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys. He is a graduate of New York University and Brooklyn Law School.
