MILTON , MA (04/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Curry College is pleased to announce that Plymouth resident Kianna Cobbett, daughter of Kristen Cobbett, will be playing the role of Young Meredith in Curry Theatre's main stage performance of Bat Boy: The Musical. Kianna is a 2009 graduate of Plymouth North High. Currently a sophomore majoring in Nursing, Kianna is making her Curry Theatre debut in Bat Boy: the Musical.

Lifted from the front pages of certain tabloids, Bat Boy the Musical recounts the story of a half-bat, half-boy found living in a remote cave in West Virginia. He is captured, and the rural townsfolk struggle to decide his fate. Beyond the absurd and hysterical premise, the show deals with serious themes such as hypocrisy and acceptance, scapegoating and forgiveness, and racism and revenge. Packed with impressive music from rock to rap to opera with a dash of horror-movie score, Bat Boy is sure to entertain and leave the audience singing, "Don't deny your beast inside."

Bat Boy: The Musical will run Saturday, April 23 through Tuesday, April 26 at 7:30 pm in the Oscar B. and Frances A. Keith Auditorium at the Academic and Performance Center on the Curry College Milton Campus, 1071 Blue Hill Avenue, Milton, MA. Tickets are $10 and may be reserved at 617-333-2259 (Option 2).
