Kid Cinnamon Rolls Win at State Fair

DES MOINES, IA (09/17/2024) (readMedia)-- Leeah Hartman of Knoxville won first place overall, a $125 cash award, a chef cap, blue ribbon and certificate in the Kid Sponsored Cinnamon Roll Championship, judged Friday, August 16, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Luke Hartman of Knoxville earned second place overall, a $75 cash award, a chef cap, red ribbon and certificate. Ava Praska of Urbandale claimed third place overall, a $50 cash award, a chef cap, white ribbon and certificate.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There were 140 divisions, 726 classes and nearly 6,400 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
