ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (12/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Margaret Gruen of King George, Virginia, has been awarded the Maxwell B. Roberts Music Scholarship at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The scholarship was established in 2006 by Karen J. Horton and John J. Roberts to benefit students in the music program with academic merit and financial need.
Gruen, Class of 2014, is majoring in English and music. She is involved in the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, the Dance Club, and the Avatar literary arts magazine. Gruen plans to work as an editor and teach piano.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
