Kory O'Laughlin Named NAIA Scholar-Athlete

CANTON, MO (12/16/2011)(readMedia)-- The Culver-Stockton College volleyball team had four players recognized as 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics this week.

Named to the list were senior outside hitter Deandra Bockhold, junior defensive specialist Brooke Bowie, junior middle blocker Kory O'Laughlin, and junior defensive specialist Julianna Gillam. Bockhold was named to the list for the second straight year.

O'Laughlin, a sport management major from Winfield, Mo. (Winfield HS / East Central College), saw action in 48 sets (21 matches) this season. She tallied 30 kills, eight digs and 11 blocks in limited action.

Three hundred eighty-five volleyball players were recipients of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honor. Student-athletes must have a junior or senior academic standing and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50. Student-athletes who transferred must have been in attendance at an institution for one full year to be eligible.
