LVC College Choir to Present John Rutters' "Magnificat" at Spring Concert
Concert to be held Sunday April 29, at 3 p.m. in Miller Chapel
ANNVILLE, PA (04/19/2012)(readMedia)-- The Lebanon Valley College Choir will present John Rutters' "Magnificat" at its annual spring concert Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. in Miller Chapel. The program is free and open to the public. The group is directed by Dr. Michael Wojdylak '97, adjunct assistant professor of music at LVC.
The featured piece will be John Rutters' "Magnificat," with featured soloist, Dr. Rebecca Lister of the music faculty. The choir will also perform Aaron Coplands' "At The River," Norman Dello Joios' "A Jubiliant Song," Elton Johns' "Circle of Life" from the "Lion King," Freddie Mercurys' "Somebody to Love" and "Bohemian Rhapsody," and the three Larry Fleming arrangements from "Three About Jesus."
The Lebanon Valley College Choir represents students from a variety of majors. Founded in 1991, the College Choir is one of the three choral organizations in LVC's Music Department. Wojdylak is a 1977 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University. After launching a career as a dentist, he earned a second bachelor's degree at LVC in music with a concentration in theory and composition. An accomplished tenor soloist, Wojdylak also teaches private voice lessons at the College.
