ANNVILLE, PA (03/12/2018) Dave Shapiro '99, LVC's esports director of operations, announced that the College's esports program has signed a partnership agreement with Candoris, a Pennsylvania-based technology solutions provider. The Dutchmen compete in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE).

The generosity and support of Candoris will enable LVC esports team members to practice and compete on the very best esports equipment. Student-athletes on the College's Overwatch and Hearthstone teams (Blizzard Entertainment) and League of Legends team (Riot Games) will play on gaming platforms using Alienware's Aurora R7 Liquid Cooled Chassis with i7 and NVIDIA ® GeForce ® GTX 1080 cards. They'll also use Alienware's top-of-the-line monitors that sport 240Hz refresh and 1ms response time.

"We enjoy a strong relationship with Lebanon Valley College as part of our commitment to the local community," said Stephan Van Der Ploog, Candoris founder and chief accountability officer. "In addition to hiring LVC student interns and graduates, we are proud to partner with the state's first-ever varsity esports program."

LVC's esports team, which is housed in Clyde A. Lynch Memorial Hall on campus, has already achieved success. The program's Overwatch team garnered the first varsity-level victory in the College's history during a 2-0 win (best of three) Feb. 13 over Stephens College of Columbia, Mo.

"We are incredibly excited to work with Candoris, longtime friends and neighbors, and to utilize Alienware equipment, the world's premier gaming platform," said Shapiro. "This partnership and these top-level tools will enable our student-athletes to immediately compete against the best programs in the nation, or against anyone in the world."
