La Crosse Native Abby Wiedman Completes Freshman Basketball Season at Lake Forest College

Wiedman had a career-high 18 points in the Foresters regular season finale against Monmouth.

LAKE FOREST, IL (03/07/2012)(readMedia)-- Freshman guard Abby Wiedman (La Crosse, Wis./La Crosse Logan H.S.) of the Lake Forest College women's basketball team, recently completed her freshman season for the Foresters, who advanced to the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament.

Wiedman played in each of the Foresters (12-12, 11-7 MWC) 23 games, scoring 74 points with a career-high 18 points in the regular season finale against Monmouth College on February 24, 2012. She also scored in double figures at Knox College on January 10, 2012 and posted a career-high five rebounds at Lawrence University on February 3, 2012.

Wiedman plays for UW-La Crosse alumna and former All-American Tamlyn Tills '82, who recently completed her fourth season as the head coach at Lake Forest College. Tills was part of the 1980-81 Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women national championship team at UW-La Crosse and is a member of the University's Athletic Hall of Fame.

Abby is the daughter of Jeff and Bobbi Wiedman of La Crosse, Wis.
