Lafayette's Tanner Wilcox named NACC Football Special Teams Student-Athlete of the Week

AURORA, IL (10/08/2013)(readMedia)-- Aurora University junior defensive back Tanner Wilcox (Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon H.S.) was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week.

Wilcox had a tremendous day on special teams in the Spartans' 84-41 win over Maranatha Baptist Bible College. He recovered a fumble on a kickoff for a touchdown, blocked two punts, one which went out of bounds for a safety and made two more tackles on the Maranatha punter, including one for another safety.

Next action for the Spartan football team, currently 1-3 overall, comes on Saturday, October 12 when they travel to Benedictine University. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. in Lisle, Ill.
