Lake Forest Academy takes first place at MSOE
MILWAUKEE, WI (12/04/2012)(readMedia)-- A team of students from Lake Forest Academy in Lake Forest, Ill., took first place in Milwaukee School of Engineering's annual "OP"portunity Math Conference. The team was coached by Ken Magarie. The OP Conference gives high school students the opportunity to demonstrate excellence in academic pursuits. The competitions challenge the skills and abilities of students at all levels.
For the OP Math competition, students worked to solve problems in a number of categories including: algebra, geometry, advanced math and problem solving. There also was a team competition, in which 28 teams participated. The winning teams completed the most problems correctly. Marquette University High School (Milwaukee) took second place and Arrowhead High School (Hartland, Wis.) took third place in the competition.
MSOE is an independent, non-profit university with about 2,500 students.
