Lake Forest Swimmer Loren Dutca Named Forester Athlete of the Week

The Niles North Graduate Had Career-Best Times in Each of Her Three Events.

LAKE FOREST, IL (12/15/2011)(readMedia)-- Lake Forest College swimmer Loren Dutca (Chicago, Ill./Niles North) was named the Forester Athlete of the Week on recently for her performance at the Carthage-Swimming.com Classic the previous weekend.

Dutca, a sophomore, swam career-best times in each of her three events. Her time of 5:12.99 in the 500-freestyle was good for second place at the meet and was the fastest time by a Midwest Conference swimmer this season. She placed third in the 100-backstroke in 1:01.20, which also ranks her first in the conference this year and fifth in team history. Finally, in the 1650-freestyle, Dutca finished fifth with a time of 17:59.10, good for second in the league in 2011-12 and fourth in program history.

In addition to her exploits in individual events, Dutca also helped Lake Forest's 200-freestyle (1:43.74), 800-freestyle (8:05.55), 200-medley (1:55.12), and 400-freestyle (3:43.54) relay teams record the conference's best times of 2011-12.
