Lake Forest women's hockey player Jessica Dare named Forester Athlete of the Week

The senior contributed to all of Lake Forest's three goals in a 1-0-1 weekend.

LAKE FOREST, IL (02/22/2012)(readMedia)-- Lake Forest College women's hockey player Jessica Dare (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Belle Tire/Whitmore Lake) was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after contributing to all three of her team's goals against visiting College of St. Scholastica over the weekend.

Dare, a senior forward, had a goal and an assist in Lake Forest's 2-2 tie with the Saints on Saturday. The goal was her seventh of the season and 34th in her career, tying her for fifth place in program history.

On Sunday the Foresters blanked St. Scholastica 1-0 and Dare assisted on the game's only goal at 5:43 in the second period.

Dare, who was also named Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week on Tuesday, is tied for second on the team with 14 points on seven goals and seven assists.

Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Dare also earned the award once as a sophomore.
