DANVILLE , IL (04/23/2019) (readMedia)-- Lakeview College of Nursing Dean Lanette Stuckey, of Effingham, IL, will soon participate in the QSEN Academic Task Force. This task force is a collaboration of nurse educators who serve as champions for the integration of quality, safety education for nurses (QSEN) nationwide.

The QSEN Academic Task Force focusses on development, implementation, and evaluation of QSEN teaching strategies and curricular design that support the bridge of QSEN into practice, according to qsen.org.

Stuckey said, "I am excited to be a part of this!" She added that QSEN is highly regarded in the world of nursing education. "QSEN is viewed as the gold standard in nursing programs across the U.S. All nursing programs want to have their program linked to QSEN to meet the challenge of preparing future nurses who have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to improve the quality and safety of the healthcare systems in which they work."

"I have been involved with some terrific Lakeview faculty members in integrating QSEN into Lakeview's curriculum over the last several years and it will be interesting to now experience QSEN on a different level," explained Stuckey.

Lakeview College of Nursing offers a bachelor of science in nursing degree. It is a single-purpose, private institution that has specialized in nursing education in the Danville, IL Area since 1894. Lakeview began offering a cooperative program with Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL, in the fall of 2001.
