AIKEN, SC (10/26/2018) Tickets are now on sale for Aiken Comedy Club, featuring Laugh Factory's Thom Tran at the University of South Carolina Aiken, Friday, Nov. 9, at 8 p.m., in the Etherredge Center.

Tran is a Los Angeles-based stand-up comedian, musician, and U.S. military veteran and advocate. His career as a stand-up comic started after a combat injury ended his career as a soldier. As a touring comic, Tran has been across the United States and regularly performs at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles where he currently resides.

"We are bringing students and community members together for a fun night, full of laughs," said Robert Murphy, the director of the Office of Veteran and Military Student Success at USC Aiken.

"Thom is a decorated Army veteran who can bring the house down, with comical references to some of his military and life experiences."

The Comedy Club evening is sponsored by the University Office of Veteran and Military Student Success.

"While on the eve of Veterans Day, this event is not necessarily a Veterans Day event, but we do want to celebrate with and laugh with the community, students, and area veterans.

"I cannot think of a better way to celebrate than through laughter, and Tran is the comedian who will ensure we do just that."

General admission tickets are $20. Student and veteran tickets are available. All tickets can be purchased at: or by calling 803-643-6767. Tickets include entrance to a post-show gathering at the Taproom in the Alley, downtown Aiken.
