Laurence Bodek Honored at Western New England College School of Engineering

SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Laurence M. Bodek of Bridgeport, CT received the James V. Masi Creative Excellence Award during Baccalaureate ceremonies at Western New England College. The award is given by the electrical and computer engineering faculty to the student or students judged to have shown both creativity and initiative in their senior project.
Bodek graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He served as secretary of the student chapter of IEEE and as a member of the School of Engineering's Student Advisory Board. Bodek was inducted into the Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Beta Tau, and Mortar Board honor societies. Last summer, he completed an internship at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, leading a team of students from across the country working on designing a mission to the moon. Following graduation, he will be working at BAE Systems as part of the company's Engineering Leadership Development Program.
