Learning is an Art Hosts Family Benefit Event to Send Aid To Eritrea
Funds Will Go to Support Physicians for Peace Eritrea Program
NORFOLK, VA (07/13/2007)(readMedia)-- Learning is an Art, a home party plan company in Metuchen, NJ, is hosting a Benefit for Eritrea’s Children, with 100% of the proceeds going to support the Partnership for Eritrea, an alliance of Physicians for Peace (PFP), the Eritrean Ministry of Health and The George Washington University Medical Center. PFP is an international organization focusing on medical education in developing nations, bringing medical care and education to the war-torn African nation of Eritrea. The benefit event is part of a larger partnership between PFP and Learning is an Art to raise much-needed funds for The Orotta Hospital and School of Medicine in Asmara, Eritrea.
The benefit will be held from 3-7 pm on Saturday, July 21 at the Washington, D.C. entertainment venue Zanzibar, located at 600 Water Street, SW. The public is encouraged to attend this fun event with their entire family. The event will include educational games and activities for parents and kids, the chance to see and purchase Learning is an Art educational toys and products, and a presentation on the work of Physicians for Peace in Eritrea. Recently emerging from a devastating war for independence, Eritrea has nearly 5 million people and only 4 pediatricians in the entire country. Physicians for Peace, a top-rated charity, is establishing a medical residency program in conjunction with The George Washington University Medical Center at the Orotta School of Medicine, to train local doctors in pediatric medicine and surgery.
