ANNVILLE, PA (03/26/2015)(readMedia)-- To celebrate national Earth Day Wednesday, April 22, Lebanon Valley College's Sustainability Committee will host Earth Days 2015. Events for the celebration began Tuesday, March 17 with a Sustainability Oratorical contest won by Victoria Gluszko '16 and will end on Saturday, April 25 with a plastic artifact hunt at Quittapahilla Creek.

The Lebanon County United Way and the Quittie Creek Nature Park Committee of the Friends of Old Annville will host Quittie Creek Nature Park Day of Caring Spring Cleanup on Saturday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Quittie Creek Nature Park, Bachman Road, Annville, Pa. From April 13 to 24, students are invited to participate in two weeks of Sustainable Living to help raise awareness of the types of sustainable initiatives they can incorporate into their daily lives and become more cognizant of their impact on the environment. Students should sign up on Redbook and will receive a list of suggested sustainable acts to complete throughout the two weeks. For more information, contact Michelle Biever at mbiever@lvc.edu.

LVC professors will teach topics related to issues of sustainability April 13 to 24. Classrooms will be open to the entire LVC community and general public. For more information, contact Will Delavan at delavan@lvc.edu.

Wednesday, April 22 will feature multiple events to celebrate Earth Day. LVC's Regional Institute for Municipal & Corporate Sustainability will host the "Live Lebanon Sustainably" Symposium from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Mund College Center. Other activities include a sustainable lunch hour by Metz Culinary, a ceremonial tree planting at 2:45 p.m., and a public debate about fracking at 5 p.m. in Zimmerman Recital Hall of the Suzanne H.
