ANNVILLE, PA (09/03/2014)(readMedia)-- High school seniors interested in joining the Lebanon Valley College Class of 2019 now have the option to express their sincerest intent to enroll: the College has introduced early decision admission for those students wanting to enroll in fall 2015.

"Early decision admission is an opportunity for those students who are very serious about coming to Lebanon Valley College to jump to the front of the line," said Sue Jones, senior associate director of admission. "The applications will be reviewed first by our enrollment team, and these students will be the first to be notified of their acceptance to Lebanon Valley College."

This announcement comes on the heels of Lebanon Valley College joining the Common Application (www.commonapp.org), a single application for college-bound students to apply to any of its member schools.

"Early decision admits have sent us a signal that we're their number one choice, and that matters to us," said Jen Teisher, assistant director of admission. "We want to give first priority to these students when we're making acceptance decisions."

If accepted to LVC, early decision admits enter a binding agreement to the College stating their intent to enroll. Students may only apply to one college or university through early decision.

"We will be providing preliminary financial aid packages to students accepted through early decision admission by December 15, significantly earlier than our traditional rolling admission applicants," said Kendra Feigert, director of financial aid. "This helps families have a clear picture of their financial responsibilities a full eight months ahead of their first tuition payment."

Early decision applications are due to LVC by Nov. 1, 2014, and acceptance decisions will be mailed by Dec. 1. The traditional rolling admission application deadline remains March 1, 2015, with acceptance decisions mailed throughout the application period. The College's admission standards maintain the same level of competitiveness: most accepted students have a challenging schedule of college preparatory courses throughout high school and rank in the top half of their class and/or maintain a B average.
