ANNVILLE, PA (01/15/2015)(readMedia)-- Lebanon Valley College and Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) will host their 14th annual Relay For Life, "Outshine Cancer: Spotlight on a Cure," event March 20–21 in the Arnold Sports Center. To launch the red carpet inspired fundraiser, CAC will host a kick-off event Tuesday, Feb. 3 from 4:30–6:30 p.m. in the Lehr and Phillips dining rooms of the Mund College Center.

This year's kick-off includes a guest speaker from Voices of Hope, speeches by CAC committee members, and activities to honor those who have been affected by cancer. Additionally, the committee will offer a special discounted registration fee of $5 for those choosing to sign-up for Relay For Life at the kick-off event. Regular Relay For Life registration is $10 and will be $20 at the door on March 20.

LVC's Relay For Life is an overnight fundraising event representing that "cancer never sleeps, and neither will we." The event is designed to celebrate, honor, and remember those affected by cancer, while raising money for the American Cancer Society. The event features food, games, competitions, entertainment, and multiple ceremonies.

CAC hopes to raise $42,500 through this year's Relay For Life. In order to make this possible, the committee has set a participant goal of 700, team goal of 70, and survivor goal of 30.

Prior to the event, students, faculty, staff, and community members can create a new Relay For Life team or sign-up for an existing team. Those who are unable to attend the kick-off event, but are interested in participating in LVC's Relay For Life, can sign-up at www.relayforlife.org/palvc.
