ANNVILLE, PA (08/21/2015)(readMedia)-- With the start of the academic year comes the start of the Friday Night Comedy Series at Lebanon Valley College. Each semester the Student Programming Board selects a series of comedians to perform Friday nights at 9 p.m. in Leedy Theater in the Mund College Center. All shows are free and open to the public.

Alex Stone will begin the series Friday, Sept. 4 with his wry storytelling and sardonic humor, which led to his inclusion in the Best of the Midwest competition in 2013. Hailing from Chicago, Ill., Stone was one of the top 100 comics selected for season eight of NBC's "Last Comic Standing" in 2014 and was invited to perform at the prestigious Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal. Recently featured in the Chicago Tribune and the Huffington Post, Stone is sure to keep audience members entertained from start to finish!

Following Stone is comedy magician Joel Meyers who will perform Friday, Sept. 11. Lauded by giants like Newsweek, the CW, Entertainment, NBC, and Syfy, Meyers boasts an impressive résumé of performances for Fortune 500 Companies, celebrities, television, and countless other venues. Meyers' magic astounds and amazes, truly embodying his tagline "nothing is impossible!"

On Friday, Sept. 18, the College will host Jessi Campbell, Campus Activities Magazine's 2013 and 2015 Female Performer of the Year. One of the top 100 comedians on the upcoming season of "Last Comic Standing," Campbell has performed across the nation at venues such as The Great American Comedy Festival and San Francisco SketchFest.

The final comic of September is Bernadette Paulie whose performance Friday, Sept. 25 will leave the crowd eager for more. Her mixture of charming anecdotes and biting punchlines have been featured on 'Standup in Stilettos' with Kate Flannery of "The Office," MTV, FOX, and Comedy Central. A sharp and polished performer, Paulie won the praise of The Huffington Post and The New York Post who listed her as "The Best of New York City Live Comedy" and her jokes as the "Funniest of 2010."
