Lebanon Valley College to Present Evening of Woodwinds on Apr. 15

ANNVILLE, PA (04/15/2014)(readMedia)-- Lebanon Valley College will host an Evening of Woodwinds concert featuring the various woodwind ensembles of the College on Tuesday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Lutz Hall of the Blair Music Center. The concert is free and open to the public.

This year's concert will feature the Clarinet Choir under the direction of Beverly Butts, the Flute Ensemble under the direction of Michelle Barraclough, the Woodwind Quintet under the direction of Beverly Butts and two Saxophone Quartets under the direction of Tom Strohman.

The saxophone quartets will play works by Gordon Jacob, W. C. Handy, Paul Reade, Ernesto Nazareth, Ignaz Lachner, and Friedmann Graef.

The LVC Flute Ensemble has eight members from varying academic disciplines. The ensemble will perform "Reveries" by Deborah J. Anderson, James Christensen's "Faces," and the Irish themed "Mixing the Malt" by Peter Martin/arranged by Paige Long. "Mixing the Malt" will also feature Kandice Tanner '14 on the bodhran, a traditional Irish hand drum.
