ANNVILLE, PA (09/19/2017) Representatives of Lebanon Valley College's chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma presented a donation check to the American Red Cross today to assist victims of the recent hurricanes. Members of the group sold t-shirts for the Flying Dutchmen football team's home opener and raised $500. Wal-Mart then doubled the group's donation and added it to the $500 for a total donation of $1500 to the American Red Cross.

Additional hurricane relief efforts are also happening on campus. Earlier this month, LVC Athletics held a clothing drive which resulted in more than 500 pounds of donations being shipped to Texas. Another group is currently organizing a donation of hygiene kits to be sent to hurricane victims in need.

The College's strong service values, resulted in a place on the 2015 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest honor a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning, and civic engagement. The Valley has received this recognition for three consecutive years.
