Lee Ayscue Receives Final Convocation Award at Hampden-Sydney College

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 25, Hampden-Sydney College sophomore Russell Lee Ayscue III received the Sophomore Academic Excellence Award, presented by Dean Christa D. Fye, Associate Dean for Academic Support. The Sophomore Academic Excellence Award recognizes the sophomore with the highest grade-point average.
A Patrick Henry Scholar, Lee is a member of the varsity swim team, the Tiger Athletic Club, the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, and the professional scientific fraternity Alpha Chi Sigma. A chemistry major, Lee graduated from Virginia Episcopal School and is the son of Russ Ayscue and Kim Ayscue, both of Lynchburg.
A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
