Lexington Park Student Awarded Scholarship

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (12/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Laura Baltodano of Lexington Park, Maryland, has been awarded a St. Mary's County Scholarship at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The scholarship was established by the St. Mary's County Commissioners and private donors to benefit academically talented students from St. Mary's County with financial need.

Baltodano, Class of 2012, is majoring in economics. In addition to going to school, she holds a full-time job as a government contractor and is mother to a two-year-old. Baltodano enjoys spending time with her family and running an independent record label with her fiancée.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
