Lexington resident Daniel Smoot elected president of the class of 2013 at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, CT (05/13/2010)(readMedia)-- Daniel Smoot, a freshman at Connecticut College, has been elected president of the sophomore class for the 2010-2011 academic year.

As president, Smoot is responsible for coordinating social functions for the class and providing class representation on committees and at campus events.

Smoot, a 2009 graduate of Lexington High School, is the son of Sanford and Margie Smoot of Lexington.

The Connecticut College Student Government Association considers issues and formulates policies in areas primarily or exclusively involving the student body at Connecticut College and seeks to extend channels of communication, increase areas of cooperation and foster a greater acceptance of shared responsibility between faculty, administration and students.
