Lisa Plattner Named C-SC Student-Athlete of the Month

CANTON, MO (12/05/2012)(readMedia)-- Culver-Stockton College women's basketball player Lisa Plattner has been named the Missouri National Guard Student Athlete of the Month for November.

Plattner, a senior guard from St. Louis, Mo. (Hazelwood West HS), is an athletic training/pre-physical therapy major who is a four-year letterwinner with the women's basketball team. During her four years, Plattner has started 33 of the 76 games in which she has appeared, averaging 5.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game. So far this season, Plattner has started and appeared in seven of the eight games played by the Wildcats. She is averaging 9.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.7 steals per game.

Off the basketball court, Plattner has served as a member of the Student Athlete Leadership Team (SALT) for two years. She also has served as secretary of the Student Athletic Training Organization (SATO), been an anatomy and physiology supplemental instructor, worked as a camp counselor during summer basketball camps for three years and helped with the Extreme Dome Makeover community wide service project.

Plattner carries a 3.64 grade-point average and has been named to the dean's list (3.50-3.99 GPA) four times and honor roll (3.20-3.49 GPA) two times in her six full semesters on the Hill. She was named to Who's Who among America Universities and Colleges and a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2012.
