Lisa Plattner Named Daktronics-NAIA Student Athlete

CANTON, MO (03/18/2013)(readMedia)-- Culver-Stockton College senior Lisa Plattner has been recognized as a 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Basketball Scholar-Athlete by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Plattner, a 5-foot-7, guard from St. Louis, Mo. (Hazelwood West HS), is an athletic training major at Culver-Stockton. She played and started in 24 of the Wildcats' 29 games this season, averaging 5.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Plattner is a four-year letterwinner with the Wildcats who scored 512 points, pulled down 257 rebounds and dished out 125 assists in her career.

Off the court, Plattner has been named to the Dean's List four semesters and the Honor Roll two semesters, and is president of the Student Athletic Training Organization. In addition, she has been named a Who's Who Among Universities and Colleges, and been a member of the Student-Athlete Leadership Team. This is the second straight year Plattner has been recognized as a scholar-athlete by the NAIA.

One hundred twenty-four women's basketball players were recipients of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honor. Student-athletes must have a junior or senior academic standing and maintain a minimum cumulative grade- point-average of 3.50. Transfer student-athletes must attend the nominating institution for one full year before being eligible.
