ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (11/11/2011)(readMedia)-- Dustin Hoffman stars in "Little Big Man," the final movie in the Diversity Film Series for the fall semester at Elizabethtown College. The 1970 film, shown at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, in the College's Gibble Auditorium, is followed by a discussion by Robert Wheelersburg, associate professor of Anthropology at Elizabethtown College, and Fletcher McClellan, professor of Political Science and the College's Dean of Faculty.

"Little Big Man" recounts the westward movement through the eyes of a white man raised as a Native American. In 1970, Arthur Penn adapted Thomas Berger's satirical novel, making the film a comic yet stinging allegory about the bloody results of American imperialism.

The 2011-2012 Diversity Film Series is hosted by Elizabethtown College Academic Advising. All diversity film series movies are open to the public and are close captioned.

The Diversity Film Series continues in 2012 with "Hoop Dreams," with a visit by Arthur Agee, on Monday, Jan. 23; "The Defiant Ones," Monday, Feb. 6; "The Children's Hour," Monday, March 26; and "South Pacific," Monday, April 16.
