Lizzie Grolle Chosen for NSF Research Grant at Samford University

BIRMINGHAM, AL (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Lizzie Grolle of Sonora, daughter of Fred and Margaret Grolle, was chosen for a prestigious National Science Foundation-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) at Samford University in Birmingham, AL for the summer of 2013. The REU supports interdisciplinary research in a diverse Appalachian ridge and valley ecosystem. Lizzie will conduct research on freshwater turtles with Dr. Jenny Layton of the department of Biological and Environmental Sciences. Lizzie is a graduate of Sonora High School and currently attends California State University Stanislaus.
