Local National Guard Soldiers Remembered Prior to Memorial Day Weekend

BUFFALO, NY (05/24/2012)(readMedia)-- New York Army National Guard Soldiers and members of the Western New York Chapter of the Association of the United States Army will gather at the Masten Avenue Armory on Friday, May 25 to remember five Soldiers who served at the Armory who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

WHO: Fifteen New York Army National Guard Soldiers, Association of the United States Army members and a family member of a fallen New York Army National Guard Soldier.

WHAT: A short ceremony at the memorial, which consists of a tree and a carved stone with the names of Soldiers who died in action. The Soldiers will spend volunteer time prior to the event sprucing up the memorial. They will be doing this on their own time. Home Depot donated supplies for the project.

WHEN: Noon on Friday, May 25, 2012.
