Local Student Receives Award from Central Penn College
SUMMERDALE, PA (02/28/2012)(readMedia)-- Barend Woode of Worcester, Mass., a Central Penn College corporate communications student, has received the Dr. C. Delores Tucker Award for Community Service. Woode spends college breaks working for the Worcester Massachusetts Youth Center.
"Barend sets an exemplary standard of community service through his volunteer efforts at the youth center," says Academic Dean Kathy Andersen.
Students are nominated by the faculty and staff of Central Penn. Woode was one of four Central Penn College students awarded for their outstanding performance in the areas of academic excellence, community service, leadership and character during the college's February 15 Black History Month luncheon.
