Local entrepreneurs to speak about successes, failures at Feb. 8 PioPitch

MARIETTA, OHIO (02/02/2018) The next installment of PioPitch will feature two local entrepreneurs - Geoff Schenkel '94 of Resolve Studios and Misti Sims of Little Black Dress Events - as this month's focus is on creativity and innovation.

Schenkel and Sims will start at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 8th, at Marietta College's Timothy O. Cooper Auditorium.

Schenkel, a Marietta native, is an artist, muralist and co-founder of Resolve Studios. His love for the inclusion of others in the creation of art has led him to work with a variety of people from all backgrounds, for which he has received multiple awards.

Sims is the founder of Little Black Dress Events, a creative event planning and boutique rental company located in the Mid-Ohio Valley. She collaborates with other planners, vendors, and stylists to bring original concepts to life for each client's event. Her innovative and passionate approach is reflected in the style of the events she skillfully orchestrates.

PioPitch is an entrepreneurial event that is focused on identifying problems and offering solutions in a question-and-answer format. At PioPitch, presenters engage with students, faculty, and community members, trading ideas and having helpful discussions about the finer points of their entrepreneurial endeavors.

PioPitch has been a consistent staple in the Marietta community, bringing people together to help grow the entrepreneurial spirit of the Mid-Ohio Valley. It is free and open to the public.
