Local resident accepted to Harding University

SEARCY, ARK. (06/12/2012)(readMedia)-- Wesley Watts of Jonesboro (72401), son of Bryan and Tricia Watts, has been accepted to attend Harding University for the fall 2012 semester.
Watts is a recent graduate of Jonesboro High School where he was a member of the Quiz Bowl team, student council and National Honor Society. In addition to lettering in baseball throughout his high school career, he was also recognized as the Optimist Club Outstanding Senior and an honor graduate. Watts received the Harding academic and athletic scholarships, Arkansas Challenge scholarship and Hytrol Conveyor scholarship.
He will be welcomed to campus on Aug. 16 for Student Impact. This orientation program is designed to help freshmen and new students learn about the campus and make the adjustment to college life.
With an enrollment of more than 7,100 students, Harding is the largest private university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars than any other private university in the state.
