CANTON , OH (03/11/2013)(readMedia)-- The Malone University College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences – Department of Visual Art is presenting senior portfolio exhibits throughout the remainder of spring semester in the McFadden Gallery within the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, located on the campus at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton.

"The Center" – the work of Alexis McCullough, a senior art major from Newark – is on display now through March 15. A reception will take place Friday, March 15 from 6 – 9 p.m.

McCullough will graduate this May with a B.A. in visual arts and an emphasis in painting. She works in many mediums, but all reflect her understanding of "center." She says, "The word itself holds many meanings given certain contexts to dwell within."

These centers subconsciously pour themselves onto her work and have become an identifiable trait in which most of her colleagues can decipher as her style. She explains, "As I go through life, I find that I am centered in many different places and many physical, psychological, and spiritual ways."

Malone University (Canton, Ohio), a Christian university for the arts, sciences, and professions in the liberal arts tradition, affiliated with the Evangelical Friends Church, awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 100 academic programs.
