Lucia Veon of Mogadore held senior recital
CANTON , OH (04/03/2013)(readMedia)-- The Malone University College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences – Department of Music – recently presented a senior recital featuring Lucia Veon, a senior choral music education major from Mogadore; and David Gorski, a senior music education major from Chesterland, on Monday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m. in the Stewart Room of the Randall Campus Center.
David Gorski says that he is always willing to discover, develop, and deploy his talents as an offering of worship for the King. He has been involved in the Malone University Bands for his entire collegiate career, and in the process, has attained positions such as saxophone section leader, drum major, band chaplain, and president of the Malone University Ohio Collegiate Music Educators Association (OCMEA) Malone Chapter. Gorski has studied saxophone under the illustrious Dave Kana during his time at Malone. His involvement stems out of the band environment as well, contributing to campus ministries such as Celebration (3 years of service) and Chapel Band. He has even broken the "Malone bubble," working with The Rising-a ministry of NEO Church (3 years of service), alongside Erik Hansen. Gorski is a recipient of the Malone Academic Honors Scholarship and Malone Instrumental Scholarship and was selected to receive a Who's Who Among Students award on behalf of Malone University. Gorski is currently a student teacher in the Fairless Local Schools district and plans to graduate this spring, ever looking forward to further Christ's Kingdom post-graduation.
Sarah Lucia Veon is a senior at Malone University pursuing a bachelor's degree in choral music education. She is currently studying voice under the direction of Cynthia Wohlschlager and in the past has studied under Rachel Nunez and Tresa Davis. She is a current member of the Malone University Chorale and participated in the first season of the Malone Opera Theater program where she performed the role of Susanna from Le Nozze di Figaro. She is currently participating in the second season as Maria from The Sound of Music and Lakme from Lakme. She has been awarded the J. Walter and Emma Malone Scholarship, and the Vocal Music Scholarship, and has been on the Dean's list for 6 semesters.
