Local student selected to speak at Culver-Stockton College's 157th Commencement Ceremony

CANTON, MO. (05/20/2013)(readMedia)--  Culver-Stockton College proudly presented diplomas to 122 graduates Saturday, May 18, during the 157th Annual Commencement exercises. Hundreds of family, friends, faculty and staff attended the ceremony, which was held outdoors on the campus of Culver-Stockton College, between Henderson Hall and Johnson Hall.

Josh McGhee, member of the class of 2013 was one of two senior speakers selected to address their class. McGhee is the son of Larry and Sharon McGhee of Tinley Park, Ill. As a student, McGhee was the editor in chief of the College newspaper, the Megaphone, as well as vice polemarch for his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi. He was also a member of the KCSW radio staff and lettered in basketball for one year. After graduation, McGhee plans to work as a journalist for DNAinfo.com, an online news source based in Chicago. McGhee received his Bachelor of Arts in communication with a minor in digital media arts.

The other student selected to speak at the ceremony was Meghan Townley of Quincy, Ill. 

Culver-Stockton College is a four-year residential institution located in Canton, Mo. Culver-Stockton was founded in 1853 by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in response to the need for co-educational opportunities.
