Local student will exhibit senior art portfolio at Malone University (Canton, OH)

CANTON , OH (04/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Malone University senior Naomi Chaffee, a visual Arts education major from Midland, Pennsylvania, will exhibit her senior portfolio, "Grounded," in the Fountain Gallery of the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts, located at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. The exhibit – showing from April 9-30 – is free and open to the public. A reception will take place Saturday, April 27, from 4 – 7 p.m.

Naomi Chaffee enjoys work in several mediums. "Grounded" covers her work in oil paint, acrylic paint, various three dimensional sculptures, multimedia collage, quilting, copper enameling, photography, batik, hand built ceramics, and wheel thrown ceramics. Demonstrated in this exhibit are varied techniques in art making applicable to the many processes needed to teach art education. The pieces in this show strive to illustrate her interest in the organic beauty, peace and simplicity God brings to her life through nature. The work expresses her convictions of faith as the grounding principal of her life.
