Robert Brewer competes in Sprint Triathlon in Rocky Point, Mexico

FLAGSTAFF, AZ (02/23/2012)(readMedia)-- Robert Brewer, a Senior Parks and Recreation Management major and resident of Long Branch, New Jersey, placed first place out of 17 in his age group, and 17th overall out of 159 participants in the Sprint Triathlon in Rocky Point, Mexico. The race consisted of a 500 meter swim in the ocean followed by a 26 kilometer bicycle ride, and ended with a 5 kilometer run.

Not only was this Robert's first-ever triathlon, but it was his first competitive race of any kind. Robert is an active participant with Campus Recreation Services at Northern Arizona University.

Campus Recreation Services is a hub for student activity at Northern Arizona University and is housed in the Health and Learning Center (HLC). The HLC features a fully equipped weight room, cardio theater, basketball courts, aerobic and dance studios, an indoor climbing wall, racquetball courts, a MAC court, and more. Campus Recreation Services also includes the Wall Aquatic Center, which offers an olympic-size pool complete with eight 50-meter lanes, diving boards, and underwater filming and viewing windows; Club Sports; Intramural Sports; and the NAU Outdoors, which provides trips and classes around the Southwest.
