Lorella Praeli of New Haven honored at Quinnipiac University awards ceremony
HAMDEN, CT (06/13/2011)(readMedia)-- Lorella Praeli of New Haven received the Rachel Ranis Prize in Social Justice at Quinnipiac University's 28th Annual Senior Awards Ceremony on April 30. This award, conferred in recognition of Professor Ranis, is presented to a senior in sociology, social services, criminal justice or gerontology who demonstrates a passion for social justice.
Praeli was also the recipient of the College of Arts and Sciences Award for Special Achievement. This award is given to the graduating senior in the College of Arts and Sciences who has a record of exceptional achievement in the face of adversity. The award was established in honor of Morris Woskow, former professor of psychology and dean.
Praeli received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Bachelor of Arts in political science during Quinnipiac University's 80th Undergraduate Commencement Exercises on May 22.
