Luke Hansen Named Men's Volleyball Player of the Week

HARTSVILLE, S.C. (04/03/2013)(readMedia)-- Coker College men's volleyball player Luke Hansen has been named Conference Carolinas player of the week, the league office announced today. He is the first men's volleyball player from Coker to earn a weekly award in program history.

Hansen helped the Cobras to a 1-1 mark last week. In a victory over Barton, he had 22 kills, three aces, three digs and a .421 kill percentage. On the week Hansen totaled 32 kills, 14 digs and four aces. For the season, Hansen leads the team in kills (245) and kills per set (3.22), and is third assists (34).

Hansen is a freshman physical education and sport studies major with a concentration in exercise science at Coker. Originally from Las Vegas, Nev., he is the son of Duane and Nancy Hansen.

The Coker men's volleyball team plays its final match of the inaugural season at 7 p.m. tonight at Belmont Abbey.
