Luke Hargroder Presents Summer Research Honors Project

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (09/22/2010)(readMedia)-- Hampden-Sydney College sophomore Andrew Luke Hargroder recently presented his Summer Research Honors Project in a public presentation at the College. Luke is one of a select group of students who undertake summer research in conjunction with members of the Hampden-Sydney faculty. Each project is evaluated on its originality, on the thoroughness of its research methods, and on the quality of its findings.
Luke's project, for history, was entitled, "Verdun and Modern Memory." He is a graduate of Episcopal High School and is the son of Dr. Faith Hansbrough and Dr. Andrew Hargroder, both of Baton Rouge.
A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the needs of young men.
