Luther College senior Molly Clementz to present mezzo-soprano recital

DECORAH, IA (03/20/2013)(readMedia)-- Molly Clementz, a Luther College senior from St. Charles, Ill., will perform a mezzo-soprano recital at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, April 6 in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Music Hall on the Luther campus.
Clementz, the daughter of Lynda and Michael Clementz of St. Charles, is majoring in music at Luther. She is a 2009 graduate of St. Charles North High School.
Clementz will perform works by Bach, Ernest Chausson, Aaron Copland, Gustav Mahler and Gioachino Rossini.
A reception will follow the performance. Both the recital and reception are open to the public with no charge for admission.
Clementz is a student of Karen Kanakis, Luther associate professor of music, and Jessica Paul, Luther professor of music. She will be accompanied by Luther seniors Karla Dietmeyer, violin, and Stephen Uhl, piano.
Luther is home to one of the largest collegiate music programs in the nation with six choirs, three orchestras, three bands, two jazz bands and nearly 1,000 student musicians.
Luther students participate in large ensembles, faculty-coached chamber groups, private lessons and master classes. More than 350 music majors study music theory, ear training, history, education, composition, church music and performance.
